Diagnostic description:
Shrub or small tree, erect, up to 3 m tall, much branched, pale stemmed, glabrous. Leaves opposite, pale green, coriaceous, slightly succulent, elliptical to broadly lanceolate, 3-6 x 1-3 cm, entire, apex acute or obtuse. Inflorescence axillary and terminal leafless panicle. Flowers greenish white with cofee like odour, 3 mm long. Calyx 4-lobed. Petals 4. Stamens 4. Fruit drupe, fleshy, pale red, 3-6 mm in diameter.
Distribution:
Africa, Saudi Arabia to South Asia.
