Shrub or tree, 10 m tall with a rounded crown, branchlets white, subglabrous. Leaves pubescent below, green on both sides, ovate to elliptic, 4.5x2.4 cm with an equal cuneate base, apex rounded and finely serrate margined. Flowers yellowish green, in pubescent, usually many flowered cymes; pedicels pubescent. Sepals 0.1 – 0.2 cm long. Petals 0.1-0.2 cm long. Stamens 5. Fruit dark red-brown, spherical drupe of sweetish taste.
