Diagnostic description:
Perennial undershurb erect, 1-1.5 m tall, glabrous. Leaves 6-11 cm long, with 4-9 pairs of narrowly elliptic, acute leaflets, 2-2.5 x 0.4-0.7 cm. Racemes 5-20 cm long, many flowered; petals yellow or orange yellow. Stamens 10;2 anthers large, 5 medium sized, 3 small. Pods shortly oblong, slightly curved to almost straight, flattened, 2-4 x 1.5-2 cm, dehiscent, transversely septate within. Seeds transversely arranged, compressed, oblong or oblong-ovate.
Distribution:
African Red Sea coast, North Africa, Palestine, Saudi Arabia to India.
